Packaging and Shipping…

Once your order is manufactured, we take extra care to insure that your material arrives safely. We protect your order with high-density shrink-wrap and band it to a reinforced pallet. Every order, regardless of size, is packaged with extreme care.

Our goal is to deliver your factory finished cedar products to you quickly, safely and efficiently. While Cedar Shingles Direct custom finishes all of our wood products, we contract most of our deliveries with professional freight services. This allows us to get your order to you faster and maintain lower prices. Your design consultant will work with you to determine the best method of delivery for your order. For convenience and safety of all concerned please follow the guidelines for the delivery method that is selected for you below:

Semi Truck with Enclosed Van Delivery (Common Carrier)

This shipment method is designated for orders that ship long distances and take no more than 20 feet of truck space.  The delivery truck is usually a box semi truck, which typically means that the product will have to be unloaded off the back of the truck by a fork lift or by hand if a fork lift is not available.  The trucks can be as large as a full semi so please be sure to have ample room for the truck to maneuver if the order is being delivered to a residence.  It is at the discretion of the delivery driver to determine if a site is accessible with the delivery vehicle. Once your factory finished cedar leaves the Cedar Shingles Direct location it is the carrier’s responsibility to deliver the product undamaged. In the unlikely event that damage does occur during shipment, you can refuse shipment or accept it. If you accept the delivery please be sure to note on the carriers delivery receipt exactly what damages occurred. Notify your Cedar Shingles Direct design consultant immediately. Save all materials and original packaging and boxes for the carrier’s inspection and pick-up of merchandise.   Always look your package(s) over well and if you have any questions, sign your delivery receipt "Accept upon further concealed inspection".

Semi Truck Flatbed Delivery

This shipment method is designed for very large orders. The delivery truck is generally 48 to 53 feet in length with an open flatbed. These contracted delivery drivers do not carry unloading equipment, such as forklifts. For this delivery method a forklift is required at the delivery site. The forklift must be able to lift a minimum of 16 foot pallets and 2500 pounds.

Cedar Shingles Direct Flatbed Delivery

This shipment method is reserved for those orders that ship close to our manufacturing facility. The delivery truck is a 20 foot flat bed truck with an electrical boom for unloading. This delivery method is available on a very limited basis.
